Von the Tengu
When von was very young he was sold into slavery, he became tougher than the lands of cheliax in which he served his time. His slaver was particularly cruel early on in his life, once ordering his beak smashed because he lost one of the first gladiatorial matches he was put in. He later was able to have it replaced with a steel covering as the beak is a particular source of pride in the tengu culture. Von learned discipline through cruelty and strength through brutality. Though small in stature he has a particularly mean streak and animalistic nature true to his heritage. Cunning and self sufficient he learned to never rely on those around him. That’s until his slavers showed a bit of compassion and allowed him to attend at a church of Irori. There he found meaning for his life, and started his path of monkdom and eventually learned he wasn’t fit for hand to hand fighting and picked up a bow. He enjoyed a bit of success after this, his slavers becoming more peaceful as they realized they could make more money off him while healthy. He became quite a skillfull archer often being entered into exhibitions and games of skill.
Eventually however he won his freedom due to a mysterious benefactor and traveled to Ilizmagorti and eventually further south to Ereder. After a heroing series of events aboard a ship he found himself washed ashore on an unidentified island.
